Rating Joni & Neil's 60s & 70s Studio LPs


After spending the first six months of 2019 listening to all of Neil Young's and Joni Mitchell's studio albums in the 1960s and 1970s, below I've ranked their output and linked to the accompanying blogs.

Among Young's 11 studio LPs in this period, his best work came in three small clusters – 1969-70, 1974-75 and 1978-79 – while Joni had a more consistently strong run from 1969 to 1976.
