Puppy, Picpoul, Pints

Weather: After 2 days of cool, crisp sunshine, the rain is now here
Mood: Content (good win for football team, few pints + Sunday roast, day off tomorrow)
Word: German word "kummerspeck", which means "excess weight gained by emotional over-eating", but translates literally as "grief bacon"
Rosie: She's developed an obsession with our friend Suzette's puppy
Lunch: Roast chicken, roast spuds & parnsips, romanesco, carrots, gravy
Exercise: 90 minutes at right back for the mighty Red Star; also danced to a few Christmas songs with Rosie
Booze: Gravesend Guzzler bitter, Picpoul de Pinet white wine
Purchased: Finished my Christmas shopping for Ruth on ASOS
Media: Caught most of the Sunderland v Blackburn and Stoke v Spurs games on Sky, watched Peston's Why The West Went Bust and now looking forward to Charlie Brooker's latest Black Mirror episode, spearing all that X Factor nonsense
Notes: Matters have taken a slightly more serious turn for the Redford household of late, with mortgage meetings, off-the-scale workloads and MOT shenanigans. After spending about as much as the car is worth on repairs, our little Fiat is roadworthy again but I've fallen out of love with my once efficient little machine. On the brighter side, tomorrow is a little oasis in the general pre-Christmas chaos, and with Rosie at nursery, Ruth & I are planning some shopping, ice skating and festive pints uptown.
